Foals & Horses

Silver Maple’s Foals & Horses

In addition to our lovable puppies, we also breed a number of horses. These include Haflingers, Friesians, Dutch Harness horses, Standard-Bred, Belgians and Hackney horses. We enjoy breeding and working with these types of horses for their aptitude as pleasure horses, performance horses, and harness horses.

Currently we have for sale Haflingers, Friesan crosses, Standardbreds, Draft horses and ponies.

Our horses are at different stages of their training according to their ages and how long they have been with us. We train for a variety of disciplines including Pleasure, driving and riding, trail riding, basic dressage, single and double harness driving, and the heavier work such as manure spreading or mowing and baling our supply of hay and keeping our pastures clipped.

All our trained horses have been drove and ridden on the state road (we live right beside it). They are exposed to anything from bicycles to large semis. They drive to town, stand at crossroads and stoplights, and tie at hitching rails. Trail riding experience includes up and down hills and crossing creeks and ravines.

We welcome any questions, comments and inquiries you have. To speak with us personally regarding our horses call 330-231-7914 and leave a message with your phone number and a good time to reach you. This is only a landline and we rarely answer. However, we will return your call as promptly as possible.

We welcome visitors to see and try our horses under our supervision.

We operate with the firm belief that honesty is the best policy.

From Byron Hellingsworth’s farm in Lake, Mississippi, Cheyenne is once again an offspring of the proven stallion Aphesian NTF.

She is also a maternal sister (full-sister) to the likes of the great dressage mare Cheri Lyn Rose CEH, Crysta CEH, Chole CEH, Aladdin CEH, Catalina CEH and more.

Her dam has resided in Lake, MI for probably all of the 21st century, and have been arguably the best-producing broodmare on the farm.

Cheyenne is a 3-year-old mare trained to ride and drive. She has lots of trail experience and traffic exposure. Though more of a high-energy horse, she is very reliable in all situations, including high traffic and wet, spraying roads.

« 1 of 10 »

Autry, sometimes called “Bobby Two”, or usually just “Bobby”, is a 3-year-old Registered Haflinger gelding. This youngster reminds us of Westegard Bob, a gelding we owned a few years back.

His driving training started in the fall of 2018. He is doing very well in single carriage or double carriage with a teammate.

Bobby has proven to be very level-headed in each step of his training so far. Although not in training very long (just 5 days riding), Bobby seems to be calm around highway traffic, riding around other horses, or going through water, mud, etc on trails.

Watch for updates on his training.

DOB: 2-28-16
Height: 14.3 hands
Registration: Friesian Blood Horse Registry & Friesian Sport Horse Registry

Carly is an exciting 2-year-old filly who has 65 days of driving and riding training. She is a 1/2 Haflinger and DHH/Friesian cross. Her dam, the Registered Haflinger mare Connie Mae LGH, has the backing of 2 of the top Haflinger stallions in her pedigree. Aristocrat TOF was a great performance horse for Tudor Oaks Farm, and MT Magon NTF won many classes in the draft show world. Both grandsires have sired many versatile performance horses. Her sire JC Extreme is sired by the great Friesian Knight of Wild Rose Ranch. J.C. Extreme’s mother is of DHH horse origin. We attribute Carly’s exceptional athletic ability to her unusual cross.

Carly is a real “people horse”. She is the first to greet you in the pasture and is willing to please.

She drives on the road in traffic and even motorcycles won’t phase her.

Under saddle she has road and trail riding experience — in traffic, through water or mud, she’ll do it all. She has been started in circles and will take both leads. She shows great potential for combined or pleasure driving, or as a dressage, trail or pleasure riding mount.

If interested, please call (330) 231-7914. Feel free to leave a message if we don’t answer; we will return it as soon as we get in. We can also be contacted via our Contact Form
