Silver Maple’s Foals & Horses

A Silver Maple Horse

In addition to our lovable puppies, we also breed a number of horses. These include Haflingers, Friesians, Dutch Harness horses, Standard-Bred, Belgians and Hackney horses. We enjoy breeding and working with these types of horses for their aptitude as pleasure horses, performance horses, and harness horses.

Currently we have for sale Haflingers, Friesan crosses, Standardbreds, Draft horses and ponies.

Our horses are at different stages of their training according to their ages and how long they have been with us. We train for a variety of disciplines including Pleasure, driving and riding, trail riding, basic dressage, single and double harness driving, and the heavier work such as manure spreading or mowing and baling our supply of hay and keeping our pastures clipped.

All our trained horses have been drove and ridden on the state road (we live right beside it). They are exposed to anything from bicycles to large semis. They drive to town, stand at crossroads and stoplights, and tie at hitching rails. Trail riding experience includes up and down hills and crossing creeks and ravines.

We welcome any questions, comments and inquiries you have. To speak with us personally regarding our horses call or text Lonnie at 330-440-2503, Neva at 330-440-8151, or Dennis at 330-432-8144.

We welcome visitors to see and try our horses under our supervision.

We operate with the firm belief that honesty is the best policy.

Reeses

Reeses

Reeses
M-Reese’s, aka Reeses is a 4 year old AHR registered mare standing 56 inches tall. Reeses is consigned to the Ashland Haflinger and Crossbred Sale held May 23rd. Online bidding will be provided by Prime Choice Auctions

Be sure to watch her full video, it shows her being ridden English and Western, by 5 different riders between the ages of 19 and 4.

Reeses is the very definition of a babysitter, from helping a beginner trot and lope for the first time to walking quietly down the trail, she’ll do it all! She’s safe and quiet for a beginner, but is still fun and energetic enough for an experienced rider.

We’ve hauled her to the state park for a few days of trails, as well as to the indoor arena, and to the Ohio State Fairgrounds, where she performed this spring in the Equine Affaire Haflinger breed demos.

Reeses has also had some basic dressage training, she’ll collect nicely and moves off of leg pressure. She picks up both leads, and has the smoothest little walk-trot-canter you could want.

Lion

Lion
Wonka’s Tumbler, known around the barn as Lion, is a 4 year old AHR registered gelding standing 59+inches tall. He is consigned to the Ashland Haflinger and Crossbred Sale held May 23rd. You are welcome to schedule a pre-purchase exam or visit prior to the auction. Online bidding will be provided by Prime Choice Auctions

Lion has seen lots of trail miles, and crosses creeks and logs with ease. He’ll ride in front or back of the pack, and also does well on his own. He rides in a snaffle or curb bit, on a loose rein or on the bit.

We believe Lion would make an exceptional dressage or eventing horse. With his fluid movement and active hind leg, he is always a fun, willing ride. He will collect up nicely, as well as stretch down when asked. He has smooth gaits, walk, jog, trot, and canter, and he will pick up either lead. Lion has a good stop, backup, and sidepass. He loads and ties well, and has good barn manners.

This spring we used Lion in the breed demos at Equine Affaire, and he did a great job! Contact Dennis at 330 432-8144 with any questions about this gorgeous young gelding.
