Silver Maples’ Puppy Training Program

2 week program =  Newfies are $350 a week.
Corgi’s and Pugs are $300 a week. 

Silver Maple Puppy in Training Program

This program begins introducing common terminology and basic obedience comprehension. It will require more work and reinforcement for you the owner when your puppy comes to you, but it provides a foundation of behavior as a starting point for your puppy.

 Commands introduced.

  • “Sit” = Sit on your bottom
  • “Come” or “Here” = Come to me.
  • “Lay” = Lay down
  • “Yes” = That is the correct behavior I am looking for
  • “No” = This is incorrect behavior.

   Name Recognition:

  • If you Know what your puppy’s name will be the trainer will began to teach name recognition.

  Crate Training:

  • With the two week program, this teaches your puppy that the crate is a safe place and their personal home. Our trainers use crates and play-pens.

  Beginner Leash Manners:

  • Introducing your puppy to the harness and leash.

 Phone calls

  • Your trainer will keep you informed on progress with every other week updates by phone conference.

4 week program

Silver Maple Puppy in Training Program

This is our most popular program! The four week program is more progressive and minimizes the work you  will need to do at home. This begins to instill the characteristics of a “trained” puppy. This program will will enable a puppy to be more independent with commands and mannerisms once joining their new family.

Commands introduced.

  • “Sit” = Sit on your bottom
  • “Come” or “Here” = Come to me.
  • “Lay” = Lay down
  • “Yes” = That is the correct behavior I am looking for”No” = This is incorrect behavior.
  • “Stay” = Stay where you are
  • “Drop it” = Drop anything they decide to put in their mouth.

   Name Recognition:

  • The trainer will began to teach name recognition.

 Handling:

  • Allows the puppy to feel comfortable when being picked up and handled by family members, Groomers, and Veterinarians.
  • The puppy will be comfortable with their faces, feet, ears, and tail to be touched and groomed. 

Crate Training:

  • Teaches your puppy that the crate is a safe place and their personal home.
  • Your puppy will be taught to minimize any crying or barking while in the crate.
  • Your puppy will be taught to minimize any potty accidents while in the crate.
  • Our trainers use crates and play-pens.

House Manners:

  • No jumping – Puppies will try to jump on you for attention which later in adulthood is no longer as cute! We work to prevent and correct this habit.
  • No nipping – Puppies are teething so they love to use their mouths to communicate! This can form a bad habit and the four week program will work to prevent it.

Leash Manners:

  • Introducing your puppy to the harness and leash.
  • Begin starting to walk on a leash
  • Familiarizes your puppy to wearing a collar
  • Walking with you while on the leash

 Establishing Routines:

Our trainers will began a routine that they will use daily during the length of the training program. This includes:

  • Potty Training Routine
  • Meal Time Routine
  • Bedtime Routine

Potty Training
Our trainers will begin the lengthy process of correcting your puppy from going potty within your house on the floors, within the crate, or furniture. They can work with either potty pads and /or outside training. Let us know what you prefer.

6 Week Program

 The Six Week Training Program is amongst our top rated training programs. Your puppy will appear to be a super star upon arriving at their new home! With this program, your puppy will begin to master commands and exceed your expectations.

Commands introduced.

  • “Sit” = Sit on your bottom
  • “Come” or “Here” = Come to me.
  • “Lay” = Lay down
  • “Yes” = That is the correct behavior I am looking for
  • “No” = This is incorrect behavior.
  • “Stay” = Stay where you are
  • “Drop it” = Drop anything they decide to put in their mouth.
  • “Okay” = Release word to signal the training session or request is over.
  • “Leave it” – Informs the puppy they are near to or into something off limits.

   Name Recognition:

  • The trainer will  teach name recognition.
  • Will come when called by name.

 Handling:

  • The puppy will not react if pupped or tugged on – especially by a young child.

  • Our trainers use crates and play-pens.

Potty Training                                                                                                                                                                              

 Our trainers will begin the lengthy process of correcting your puppy from going potty within your house on the floors, within the crate, or furniture. They can work with either potty pads and /or outside training. Let us know what you prefer. With the six week program, your puppy’s chances of going home and still having the occasional accident is minimized. Your puppy will also be taught to hold their potty till it is time to go outside.
